The U.K. Experience
Pele Sohal joined the Carlsen Volvo team in 1997, flying over the pond and bringing with him his funny accent and his fantastic experience of Volvo product. He is one of three expert Volvo technicians at Carlsen Volvo.
He is known as the “R” guy, this title being dedicated to him due to the fact he is the owner of three “R” line Volvos.
Pete’s first “R” purchased was a 1997 854R (white) which since has been heavily modified with an upgraded ECU, full suspension package with sway bars, shocks and performance wheels. His second acquisition was a more recent venture the purchase his 2004 S60R in titanium grey stock, but this didn’t last long. Volvos body kit with ground effects was added to the vehicle along with euro spec 18” black-chrome wheels to compliment the color scheme. Dual exhaust was added to balance out the rear end of the car. And other options added were the ipod adapter from Volvo and Bluetooth, which is very handy for a safe driving, for people who have a lot to say.
Pele’s most recent purchase was a black 1997 854R in need of TLC, and having a blown motor. The engine was replaced and the whole car was reconditioned and was officially named ‘NOIR R’ (just to set it apart from the crowd).
