New Volvo XC60 became the World car of year of 2018 (World Car of the Year 2018), having added one more important award to the growing list of merits Volvo. A victory of XC60 it has been announced on a motor show in New York.

This year XC60 already has managed to become the owner of a prestigious rank "The North American Crossover of Year — 2018" (North American Utility of the Year 2018) while the compact XC40 crossover has been recognized as the European car of year — 2018 (European Car of the Year 2018) what in the middle of March it has been announced on the Geneva motor show. A victory in the competition "World Car of Year" — the first in the history of Volvo Cars.

In new XC60 — the safest car of 2017 according to Euro NCAP — the City Safety technology became even more perfect: if automatic braking isn't enough to avoid collision, the podrulivaniye becomes more active. Besides, function of prevention of departure on a strip of oncoming traffic (Oncoming Lane Mitigation) allows to avoid head-on collision, and the system of monitoring of the "blind" zones BLIS reduces risk of the accidents happening at evolution.

XC60 is equipped with various versions of diesel and petrol engines and also the hybrid petrol and electric T8 Twin Engine power plant noted by experts. This top version has the capacity of 407 hp capable to disperse the car up to 100 km/h for 5,3 pages.

Two important automobile victories of Volvo became known shortly after the president of the company Hokan Samuelson has been called the person of year according to jury of the same competition World Car of the Year 2018 (it it has been announced at opening of the Geneva motor show). Mr. Samuelson is awarded so honorary title for a contribution to company management which has resulted Volvo Cars in grandiose success in recent years.
